Summer Ladies’ Book Discussion Luncheons
We invite you to attend our Summer Ladies’ Book Discussion Luncheons which begin on June 13th. We look forward to meeting on five Tuesdays this summer. On the days of our meetings, lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. After this time of food and fellowship, we gather together for a short time of prayer followed by a group book discussion which concludes at 1:00 p.m.
This summer we are delighted that we will be reading and discussing Jen Wilkin’s None Like Him – 10 Ways God is Different from Us (and why that’s a good thing) which is a study on the attributes of God. Jen is a speaker, writer, and teacher of women’s Bible studies. Kate Shellnutt of Christianity Today writes about this study:
“None Like Him evokes a sense of both familiarity and wonder around the characteristics of the Almighty we worship. This book puts us in our place, beneath the God of all and over all.”
Here is the schedule for our summer book discussion luncheons:
|Date||Menu||Chapter and Attribute of God|
|June 13||Taco Bar||Introduction and Chapter 1 – Infinite|
|June 27||Baked Potato Bar||Chapter 2 – Incomprehensible|
|July 11||Chinese Sundae||Chapter 3 – Self-Existent|
|July 25||Soup and Salad||Chapter 4 – Self- Sufficient|
|August 8||Quiche & Fruit||Chapter 5 – Eternal|
We hope you will join us for this fun time of fellowship, of prayer, and of study about the attributes of God as revealed in the Scriptures.
